Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles final studio release Let It Be with this expansive five record set featuring 57 tracks, including a brand new remix of the original album by Giles Martin and Sam Okell. The Super Deluxe Edition includes 27 unreleased session recordings, a 4-track Let It Be EP, and the 1969 unreleased 14-track Get Back stereo LP mix by Glyn Johns.

The beautiful 108pg hardcover book features Paul McCartney’s foreword; an introduction by Giles Martin; a remembrance by Glyn Johns; insightful chapters and detailed track notes by Beatles historian, author, and radio producer Kevin Howlett; and an essay by journalist and author John Harris exploring the sessions’ myths vs. their reality.

The book is illustrated, scrapbook style, with rare and previously unpublished photos by Ethan A. Russell and Linda McCartney, as well as never before published images of handwritten lyrics, session notes, sketches, Beatles correspondence, tape boxes, film frames, and more.

For those who may not know, the Get Back project was supposed to be the Beatles return to their roots and a recasting of their style into a more basic and blues inspired approach consistent with what Dylan, The Band, The Allman Brothers, and others were presenting in their creative visions. Psychedelia, which the Beatles helped pioneer, was over. Dylan's John Wesley Harding and the Band's Music From Big Pink pointed to a new creative direction. Unfortunately, since the Beatles had exhausted their inventory of songs on the double White Album several months previously, they had little substantial material to offer. They were also growing bored and tired. The Get Back project was supposed to invigorate them and recharge their creative juices.
