Various - Bills & Aches & Blues (4AD 40th Anniversary)
|Status:||ITEM CAN SHIP IMMEDIATELY|
Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of 4AD Records with this new 18-track collection of vintage songs recorded by new and current acts on the label's roster. Highlights from Bills & Aches & Blues include Tkay Maidza covering Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?”; U.S. Girls reworking The Birthday Party’s “Junkyard”; Aldous Harding interpreting Deerhunter’s “Revival”; The Breeders taking on His Name Is Alive’s “Dirt Eaters”; and Maria Somerville covering Air Miami’s “Seabird.”
The first 12 months' profits from Bills & Aches & Blues will be donated to The Harmony Project, a Los Angeles-based after-school programme for children from communities and schools that lack equitable access to studying the arts or music. Bills & Aches & Blues is named, arguably (as Elizabeth Fraser never published the lyrics) after the opening line of Cocteau Twins' "Cherry-Coloured Funk".
Heavyweight double vinyl produced by 4AD in 2021.
