After teaching the world just how psychedelic funk could become and how seamlessly it could assimilate rock n’ roll, Funkadelic recorded and released what most agree is their masterpiece, Maggot Brain. Released in 1971, this collection of tracks represents the pinnacle of the band’s middle period before they slowly morphed into futuristic funky aliens from outer space as the decade progressed.

Maggot Brain represents a flawless synthesis of all of their influences from the titanic, guitar-lead title track, to the infectious pop of "Can You Get To That" and "Back In Our Minds" to the flat out rock assault of "Super Stupid" and the warped soul of "You and Your Folks" and "Hit It and Quit It". Maggot Brain is truly one of the greatest albums of the 1970s and ultimately, of all time.
