Linda Ronstadt - The Asylum Years (1973 - 1977) [Record Store Day]

In the early 70s, Linda Ronstadt was finding herself as a "girl singer" in the folk music scene. She felt she didn't have control over her own music at Capitol Records and was trying to branch out to no avail. This led to her signing with David Geffen at Asylum Records and collaborating with Peter Asher as a producer on her label debut, Don't Cry Now. This would mark a long collaborative relationship with Peter Asher, as she felt that he worked with her as an equal. 

The Asylum years marked an era in Ronstadt's career where she was more confident, eager, and musically expanding her repertoire. This special release includes all four albums she made while with Asylum Records, including Don't Cry Now, Prisoner in Disguise, Hasten Down the Wind, & Simple Dreams.
