Sloan's One Chord to Another is a catchy, Beatles-influenced power pop record. It won 'Best Alternative Album' at the 1997 Juno Awards. This has remained as the band's best-selling album.

After briefly breaking up following the problems they faced with Geffen Records when Twice Removed was released, Sloan began recording again in December 1995 and released this, their 3rd album in June 1996.
