Superorganism is collective of musicians from Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Their 2018 debut album Superorganism evokes the genre-hopping hooks of Weezer set against Animal Collective’s sonic experimentation as filtered through Architecture from Helsinki’s pop maximization. Superorganism really makes the most of their members. Fans can hear them on every song, and the result is a sense of community that’s anything but intimate. There's a little bit of the '90s in the mix, a little bit of post-pop pop, a little bit of bedroom trip-hop, and a lot of imagination.

Self-produced, written and recorded in a shared house in east London, Superorganism is a confident debut record that beams with a sense of wonky fun; a kaleidoscopic riot of sound and visuals. This record is loud, clanging, and communal, but also, in its own way, dreamlike. There’s something warped at the core of these songs, as if they’ve been yanked through some kind of wormhole and have reemerged into our world as aliens.

The album features the singles “Something for Your M.I.N.D.”, “Night Time”, and “Reflections on the Screen”.

Heavyweight vinyl produced by Domino Records in 2018. Gatefold sleeve. Includes download card.
