The Beatles - Abbey Road (50th Anniversary) [3LP Deluxe Edition)

For the first time, The Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road has been remixed and expanded with 23 session and demo recordings, presented chronologically to offer a fascinating look at the album’s creation.

Highlights include an early recording of “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)” featuring Billy Preston’s previously unheard organ solo, Paul McCartney’s unreleased home demo of “Goodbye,” and a newly mixed version of George Harrison’s “Something” demo featuring vocals, guitar and piano. The collection also includes alternate takes and session recordings of classics such as “Come Together,” “Here Comes The Sun,” “Oh! Darling,” “Octopus’s Garden,” and “The Ballad Of John And Yoko,” capturing the band’s creativity and experimentation throughout 1969.

The expanded edition explores the innovative recording techniques that helped define Abbey Road, including the band’s pioneering use of the Moog synthesizer and George Martin’s orchestral arrangements. Rare recordings of “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight,” “The End,” and other tracks reveal the evolution of the album’s celebrated Side 2 medley. Additional highlights include McCartney’s original demo of “Come And Get It” and “The Long One,” an alternate version of the medley featuring “Her Majesty.” Culminating with the band’s final studio gathering on August 20, 1969, this 50th anniversary edition offers an intimate behind-the-scenes look at the making of one of rock music’s most influential albums.
