Thrice returned in 2007 with an expansive 2 part concept album, The Alchemy Index, inspired by the four elements, Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. The first volumes are Fire & Water. The Fire disc revolved around the band's post-hardcore sound that was prevalent on their older releases, while the Water disc focuses on the Ambient electronic and trip hop genres.

Highlights include "Digital Sea", and "Firebreather".

This 2LP vinyl edition produced by BMG Records in 2026.
