Broken Bells - Broken Bells

Broken Bells burst onto the indie-rock scene in 2010 with their debut album 'Broken Bells'. The album features the singles "The High Road", "The Ghost Inside", "October" and "The Ghost Inside".

The duo of consists of James Mercer from The Shins and producer and multi-instrumentalist Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse). As The Shins' lineup changed and the band switched to a new label, it's only natural that Mercer wanted to try something new, and Broken Bells' self-titled debut feels like a fresh start. Mercer and Burton met at music festival six years prior the release of this album, each being big fans of the other's music. They both wanted a collaboration, they both enjoyed each other's ideas.

Broken Bells is a smart pop record full of melody and invention. It's pretty and at times unorthodox, and it finds both Burton and Mercer drawing on each other's talents to make a record unique to each of them.
