Sugar Candy Mountain fuse their vintage psychedelia with a more modern synthetic flavoring on their sophomore 2018 album Do Right. Melding the raw intensity of Tame Impala with the hazy psychedelic pop of Mild High Club and the orchestral arrangements of The Beach Boys. A greater emphasis on both synthesizers and more synthetic-sounding textures gives the album a more contemporary feel than earlier Sugar Candy Mountain releases, further adding to the moody undertones roiling beneath calm waters.
