Tom Verlaine released his solo debut album in 1979 following the breakup of Television. Several tracks, including "The Grip of Love", "Breakin' in My Heart", "Last Night", and "Red Leaves" trace their roots to unreleased Television songs. The album features Television bassist Fred Smith, Jay Dee Daugherty, drummer from the Patti Smith Group, and Ricky Wilson of The B-52's on "Breakin' My Heart".
