Wintersleep - Welcome To The Night Sky (Yellow Marble Vinyl)

Released in 2007, Welcome to the Night Sky marked a breakthrough moment for Halifax’s Wintersleep. Their third full-length album saw the band refining their blend of atmospheric indie rock and anthemic hooks. The record’s success helped earn them the Juno Award for New Group of the Year in 2008.

Lead single “Weighty Ghost” became a defining track, receiving heavy rotation on Canadian radio and making its way onto TV soundtracks for Cracked and Being Human. The band’s performance of the song on The Late Show with David Letterman introduced their brooding, spacious sound to a broader audience, while follow-up single “Oblivion” continued to build momentum.

A bold step forward, Welcome to the Night Sky brought a darker, more expansive sound to Wintersleep’s catalog, pairing post-rock textures with driving rhythms and lyrical introspection.
