Tortoise - Touch

Chicagoan post-rockers Tortoise return in 2025 with Touch, their first album in 9 years. It's the sound of an intentional effort by these five musicians to reconnect, recenter, and reinvigorate their sound for what is perhaps the group's most diverse release to date.

While there are still excursions into the dusky, elegantly gnarled jazz ambience that flourished on previous works, Touch unapologetically embraces stylistic diversity with aerodynamically re-engineered Krautrock, techno rave-ups, and pointillist spaghetti western fanfares - all imbued with Tortoise's now-signature internal logic.

Highlights include the singles "Works and Days", "Layered Presence" and "A Title Comes".
