Beach House - Teen Dream

Beach House's Teen Dream is a comforting record, not a demanding one, and there's no shame in that. Sedate of pace, warm and soulful of texture, a gentle of volume that's frequently punctured by the magic of singer Victoria Legrand's almost supernatural vocals. The 2010 album features the singles "Used to Be", "Norway" and "Zebra".

Each song on Teen Dream is a masterful puzzle, huge swaths of texture and sound that are so that dense they become minimal. They largely ditched the reverb that was so prevalent in their previous albums, and created the same cascading, cacophonous effect with cleaner instrumentation. There are a lot of moving parts to each song but they never overwhelm.
