London-based avant jazz group The Comet Is Coming return with their third record (and second for Impulse!), Hyper-Dimensional Expansion Beam. The record finds the mighty trio (which features Sons Of Kemet sax virtuoso Shabaka) leaning further into hypnotic dancehall and electronica soundscapes.

While containing elements of jazz throughout, this release leans further into heavy dance-hall themes, providing hypnotic, electronic soundscapes to dance to while keeping fans intellectually stimulated. This is a jazz record for a post-apocalyptic dance floor.
